How We Calculate This

At high altitude, lower atmospheric pressure affects how baked goods rise and set. This calculator applies standard adjustments for three altitude bands, modifying flour, sugar, liquid, leavening, temperature, and baking time.

Adjustment Bands

  • 900-1500m: +2% flour, -3% sugar, +3% liquid, -15% leavening, +15°C
  • 1500-2100m: +4% flour, -6% sugar, +6% liquid, -25% leavening, +15°C
  • 2100m+: +6% flour, -10% sugar, +10% liquid, -35% leavening, +25°C
