How We Calculate This

This calculator scales mince pie ingredients from a base recipe of 12 pies. The pastry quantity assumes you are making the pastry from scratch, except for the puff pastry option which gives the total ready-made pastry weight needed.

Base Recipe (12 Pies)

  • 350g pastry (225g flour + 115g butter for shortcrust)
  • 300g mincemeat
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • Icing sugar for dusting

Method Tips

  • Cut bases with a 7cm cutter and lids with a 6cm cutter
  • Press bases gently into greased tins
  • Fill with mincemeat, brush edges with egg, press on lids
  • Bake at 200°C (180°C fan / Gas 6) for 15-20 minutes
