This calculator estimates the total icing needed based on the number and size of biscuits and the intended purpose. It then breaks the total into icing sugar, egg whites (or meringue powder alternative), and glycerine.

Usage rates

  • Piping: ~0.15g per cm² (thin outlines and details)
  • Flooding: ~0.35g per cm² (plus piping outline allowance)
  • Coating: ~0.5g per cm² (thick coverage)

~85% icing sugar to 15% liquid (egg white or meringue powder + water).
