How We Calculate This
This calculator uses the classic Scottish shortbread ratio of 3:2:1 (flour : butter : sugar by weight) to calculate precise ingredient quantities for any batch size.
The Ratio
- 3 parts plain flour
- 2 parts unsalted butter (cold)
- 1 part caster sugar
Standard Batch (600g)
- 300g plain flour + 200g butter + 100g sugar
- Makes approximately 24 shortbread fingers
