Terms of Use
Last updated:
These terms govern your use of bakecalcs.uk (the “site”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. What the site provides
The site is a free library of baking and cooking calculators plus reference content — covering recipe scaling and conversions, tin and tray sizes, baker’s percentages and hydration, oven temperatures, portions and servings, proving and cooking times. It is provided “as is” without account registration or payment.
2. Accuracy and your own kitchen
Calculators are estimates based on standard ingredient weights, established baking practice, and the quantities and temperatures you enter. Real-world results depend on your specific ingredients, your oven’s true temperature and fan, the tin you use, altitude, humidity and technique. Ovens vary widely, so use an oven thermometer, watch for the visual and touch cues in your recipe, and check bakes with a skewer rather than relying on time alone.
Treat every result as a starting point, not a guarantee. Rising agents, hydration and bake times in particular vary with flour, ingredient temperature and equipment, so trust your senses over the numbers. We round and estimate conservatively, but we cannot account for every recipe, ingredient or oven. Always follow safe food-handling and allergen guidance — verify cooking temperatures for meat, eggs and preserves against current UK food-safety advice before serving.
3. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site;
- loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business interruption, or anticipated savings;
- wasted ingredients, failed bakes, or errors or omissions in calculator output;
- out-of-date citations where food-safety guidance or conventions have since changed;
- third-party links and their content.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under English law.
4. Acceptable use
